San Joaquin Memorial junior Meredith McDougal tamed the River Island Country Club course in Porterville on Monday to win the Central Section girls golf championship.
McDougal was the only golfer out of 89 on a windy day to beat par, shooting a 1-under 71.
Earlier this year McDougal won the Helen Lengfeld Tournament at Madera Golf & Country Club.
Clovis West won its sixth straight section Division I championship and 11th in 13 years. The Golden Eagles totaled 421 to outdistance Clovis North by 20 shots. Claire Shubin led the way for Clovis West with a 79 and Taylor Dufresne shot an 80.
The top two teams and top 12 individuals advanced to the Southern California Regionals, Nov. 8 at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. Individual qualifiers included McDougal, Lauren Parayno of Bullard (76), Rylee Santiago of Redwood (82), Mattie Millwee of Buchanan (82) and Claire Wright of Chowchilla (82).
Clovis West individuals: Shubin 79, Dufresne 80, Marissa Martinez 86, Kayla Terry 86, Isa Montes 90.
Clovis North individuals: Caroline Kurtt 84, Analise Aubin 86, Alyssa Bendure 88, Merozian 90, Sydney Crass 93.
